John Sails operates from its Loft at Hawkes Boatyard in ground floor workshop Number 2. The business has been providing sail making, sail repairs and marine trimming for both private and commercial customers since 1996. John Sails is owned and operated by Mathew Morris and Paul Mitchell who are both very experienced dinghy and ocean sailors having competed in two Sydney to Hobart races each and world championship in both the 505 and Hobie classes. They are assisted in the Loft by John Morris who is also a very experienced sailor. Mathew and Paul served their apprentiships at noted Australian Sail Lofts. They have 33 years experience between them in sail making, sail repairs and marine trimming. They run a busy Loft but will always find time to discuss your requirements and provide helpful suggestions and options and firm prices.
John Sails only use quality materials , fittings and fasteners, products such as Nylex, Sunbrella, Stamoid and Stratglass, stitched together with UV Resistant Sunstop and Tenara threads. The Loft is equipped with a wide range of sewing machines and equipment to suit each job.

Yacht Management Whitsunday operates from workshop 3 at Hawkes Boatyard. The company was established in 2003 by David Morris to provide repair, modification and building of boats of all types from trailer boats to Maxi yachts and large power cruisers.
David who is a qualified shipwright, has spent the 22 years in the marine services industry. He has competed in three Sydney to Hobart races and was a crew member on the Americas Cup Yacht Young Australia.
Yacht management Whitsunday employs two very experienced Shipwrights as part of David’s team and they are involved in all types of marine construction and repair from basic replanking and splining to exotic fibreglass and composite repair and manufacture.
David’s team use only the highest quality marine products such as West System epoxies and fillers and F.G.I composite systems. They will design and manufacture keels, rudders and foils to the latest trends efficiency and strength.
Yacht Management Whitsunday will project manage rebuilding systems, installations and major refits and have carried out this service on several new vessels including two Maxi yachts.
